Overview of Paxton Supercharger Systems

Each Paxton supercharging system is designed, tested, and sold to be installed on vehicles in their original or otherwise stock form. We provide the best performance while maintaining a margin of safety that anticipates most driving conditions that the customer may encounter. We certainly could tune more aggressively to add a few extra horsepower, however, we feel that engine reliability/durability would suffer in the long run. Systems are calibrated using California 91 octane pump gas.

Standard Systems

These are complete systems including all components required for a bolt-on installation by the experienced do-it-yourselfer. All systems are 50-state emissions legal or are in process of being certified.

High-Output Systems (Charge Cooled)

A charge cooler is included with these highly popular systems. It allows for additional horsepower gains. These systems are 50-state emissions legal or in process of this certification.

Tuner Kits

These configurations are designed for those qualified tuners or race shops who do not require the fuel management items included in our standard systems. Among the items excluded are fuel pump, fuel injectors, FMU, air inlet assembly and ECM programmer, ECM chip or timing controller. These kits are for race or off road vehicles only.

Quality Features

  • Gear driven, centrifugal supercharger provides quiet operation and unmatched reliability.
  • Technologically advanced, high-efficiency impeller and housing design developed in our supercharger test cell.
  • Supercharger drive system includes all necessary belts, pulleys, idler and tensioner.
  • High-flow bypass valve provides surge-free compressor operation.
  • Fuel management/calibration components used are high-capacity fuel injectors, high-flow fuel pump, fuel management unit (FMU), high-flow MAF, ECM chip or module, ECM re-programmer and timing controller (The above items vary per application, see system pages for details).
  • Oil feed and oil drain assemblies deliver excellent lubrication and cooling for the supercharger, even under sustained boost conditions (non SL-type compressors).
  • High-flow air intake configuration with reusable air filter and specially designed inlet ducts for superior fit.
  • Inlet and discharge duct connections utilize heat resistant silicon sleeves and premium quality stainless steel clamps.
  • OEM-type cast aluminum or billet aluminum mounting bracketry for rigidity and a factory installed appearance.
  • Systems are compatible with factory OBD II engine management.
  • Genuine OEM quality fit and finish, designed to fit under the stock hood.

Uncomplicated Installations

Systems are designed for easy installation by most car/truck/SUV enthusiasts or automotive technicians. We include every component necessary to modify the appropriate factory components, from fuel and ignition management to air intake. Additionally, Paxton maintains a tech line with trained personnel ready to assist and advise those who want to push the limits or need help for competition efforts.

50-State Emission Legal

Most Paxton systems are emissions legal in all 50 states or have the California Air Resources Board (C.A.R.B.) certification in process. Current Executive Order number awarded is D-195-23.

Durability/Driveability

The centrifugal supercharger system characteristics of progressive and linear power addition (over the naturally aspirated engine) allow for peak power targets to be achieved without overwhelming drivetrain components such as transmissions, driveshafts, clutches and rear axle assemblies. This performance curve, directly proportional to engine rpm, allows a centrifugal system to exceed the peak power potential of other boosting options with excellent driveability, performance and less impact on fuel economy.

Modified Vehicles

Our systems are developed using a stock vehicle. Only minor modifications such as a cat-back exhaust system will be compatible with our product. Custom programming (not included) will be required on modified vehicles with aftermarket exhaust headers, computer chip, throttle body, or mass air flow sensor. With aftermarket tires and wheels, changing the overall diameter of the drive wheels more then an inch may require custom programming.

High-Altitude Operation

As a result of the change in atmospheric pressure with an increase in altitude, a drop in boost pressure is common when operating in such cities as Denver, Colorado. You’ll experience a 1 1/2 to 2 PSIG drop in pressure at an elevation of 5000 feet above sea level.
